Are you an experienced Senior Payroll Officer ready to take on a multifaceted role that offers complete ownership of payroll operations? We are looking for someone who can step into this dynamic position, overseeing end-to-end payroll functions while also providing crucial HR administrative support.
In this standalone role, you'll receive support from our Human Resources Brisbane and Site Team, ensuring you have the resources you need to succeed. This hybrid position provides both variety and flexibility, aligning with our long-term commitment to excellence. We offer comprehensive handover and ongoing training to facilitate your success.
Responsibilities:
- Manage end-to-end payroll processing for over 400 staff members, handling tasks such as terminations, timesheet review, and leave management on a monthly basis.
- Oversee high-level payroll activities including job costings, payroll tax, superannuation, worker's compensation, and FBT reporting.
- Supporting and handling onboarding and offboarding tasks within the Employment Hero payroll system.
- Accurately interpret and apply Australian Awards and Taxation legislation.
- Collaborate with the HR Advisor and Administrator to administer HRIS & Payroll systems effectively.
- Provide HR support tasks when required.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a high-level payroll role for 300+ staff, preferably within mining or heavy industry.
- Ability to meet high-level payroll activities within strict timelines and schedules.
- Advanced understanding/knowledge of leave accruals, tax, payroll standards, and legislation.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, and Excel).
- Experience with Pronto and Employment Hero Payroll programs is advantageous.
- Willingness to take on additional duties to support the HR function of the business.
