THE ROLE
- Oversee and provide advice on payroll and system policy and processes
- Ensure payroll compliance with applicable awards, enterprise agreements, and all other statutory obligations
- Process weekly payrolls accurately and on time
- Collate daily timesheet reports
- Respond to employee payroll queries with professionalism
- Ensure payroll queries are addressed and closed out in a timely manner
- Prepare, balance and reconcile payroll tax, PAYG, super and other deductions
- Conduct regular audits of data
- Seek to continuously improve the efficiency of the payroll function across company processes, systems and practice.
ABOUT YOU
- Experience working within the construction industry with good working knowledge of the Building and Construction Award
- Advanced knowledge of relevant employment and statutory legislation such as award interpretation, withholding tax, payroll tax, PAYG
- Ability to work well under pressure whilst providing high level support to the team
- Ability to explain and apply policies and procedures
- Strong level of computer skills, with a particular focus on Excel
- HRIS, JD Edwards or UKG experience advantageous
- Exceptional organisational, written and communication skills with both internal and external stakeholders
