What you'll be doingThe purpose of this position is to support the management of the Antimicrobial Stewardship Program across the Westmead and Auburn Hospitals, with particular responsibilities to:
- Support the Antimicrobial Stewardship (AMS) Team
- Provide guidance and support to the AMS teams across the WSLHD as required
- Monitor, promote and support the quality and cost-effective use of antimicrobial agents
- Develop, implement and maintain systems that can lead to a reduction in antimicrobial resistance rates, morbidity and mortality

Essential Criteria
Qualification: Pharmacy qualifications conferred by Tertiary Education Institutions e.g Bachelor of Pharmacy. Must satisfy Grade 3 classification as per Health Employees Pharmacists (State) Award. Registration: Full and unrestricted Pharmacist Registration with AHPRA
Selection Criteria
- Demonstrated excellent communication skills both written, verbal and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated experience in clinical pharmacy practice, particularly in the management of infectious diseases.
- Demonstrated excellent therapeutic knowledge and ability to exercise a high level of initiative in the application of pharmaceutical principles to clinical infectious diseases (including identification and resolution of problems relating to the use of antimicrobial drugs).
- Demonstrated organisational skills and the ability to prioritise work and manage time to meet deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team with a high degree of self-motivation and ability to effect practice change
- Demonstrated skills in information technology: using computer applications including dispensing, database management, accessing medicine information, spreadsheet, and word processing programs.
- Valid Driver’s Licence. This position is mainly based at Westmead Hospital but may involve travelling to various facilities of WSLHD when required.
