We have an exciting opportunity in Technology Services team at Data Analytics Service (DAS), eHealth NSW as a Senior Platform OwnerBusiness Intelligence Platform.
Reporting to the Associate Director – Technology Services, Data Analytics Service (DAS), you will play a crucial role in a team dedicated to the design, operation, optimisation, and security of the Business Intelligence Platform across NSW Health.
In collaboration with diverse teams throughout NSW Health, you will ensure that our Business Intelligence Platforms are not only robust and scalable but also perfectly aligned with the overarching strategy of NSW Health. This is a unique opportunity to impact the delivery of healthcare services through technology, working at the intersection of data analytics and strategic health initiatives.
What you will do
As an integral member of the Technology Services team, Data Analytics Service (DAS), you will:
  • Develop and drive the roadmap for delivery of the Business Intelligence Platform as well as the supporting technology and systems.
  • Lead and manage the BI & Cloud team, developing their skillsets, fostering innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee the development, deployment, and maintenance of BI tools and platforms, ensuring they meet high standards of performance, reliability, and security.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the company to identify and prioritise business needs, translating them into BI solutions that deliver measurable value.
  • Oversee the selection, implementation, and management of BI tools and platforms, ensuring they meet our standards for performance, reliability, and security.

About you
The skills, knowledge and experience we are looking for in you are:
  • Strong business acumen, stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Strong hands-on experience in the Qlik, Power BI & Other Business Intelligence tools.
  • Experience leading teams and working in agile environment.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, proficiency in data visualisation tools (e.g., Power BI), and advanced usage of Microsoft Tools (PowerPoint, Excel).
  • Expert in Business Intelligence tools and data visualisation.
  • Understanding of Cloud Storage and Enterprise data lake design.
  • Project and change management skills.
  • Experience with Power BI Dataflow/Datasets, SQL, Power Query, and DAX.
  • Experience in Data Governance, security and automation.

All NSW Health workers are required to have completed a primary course (2 doses) of a Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) approved or recognised COVID-19 vaccine (except for the Janssen COVID-19 vaccine which is approved by the TGA as a single dose primary course). New applicants must have completed the vaccination course prior to commencement with NSW Health, or provide an Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement certifying the worker cannot have any approved COVID-19 vaccines available in NSW. A NSW Health agency may require further information about the medical contraindication (including but not limited to an Immunisation Medical Exemption form-IM011 form). Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Booster doses are highly recommended for all health care workers who have completed the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations.
To be eligible for this role, you must have current Australian work rights (Australian citizen, permanent resident, New Zealand citizen with a current passport, or hold a valid visa with permission to work in Australia).
Please note, pursuant to the Award which governs the employment conditions of this role, 'Exempt' is defined as a fixed term contract with a length greater than 13 weeks.
