Senior Policy Governance Specialist

Your new role
The Manager of Policy Governance plays a key role in being responsible for supporting the governance of the Risk function, with a particular focus on governing documents (e.g. policies and standards). This role will ensure that Risk has an appropriate, up-to-date and fit for purpose governing document universe, and will provide support across the enterprise in relation to governing documents (e.g. to support FAR outcomes). This will include the drafting of governing documents for the Risk function, and providing drafting advice and support to non-Risk governing document owners in AUSPAC. This role will provide advice on better practice in relation to governing document management for the division.
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Effectively manage the Risk function governance requirements as they relate to governing documents
  • Establish an ongoing regime to effectively manage Risk governing documents (e.g. policies and frameworks)
  • Support the development and lead the implementation of better practice for governing document management strategy, ensuring there is an appropriate document ‘universe’ for the enterprise
  • Governing document drafting for all Risk governing documents
  • Implement and monitor effective governing document governance or the Risk function
  • Support non-Risk governing document owners with expertise in governing document drafting and related advice
  • Application of technical expertise in drafting Risk-owned governing documents and providing advice and support to non-Risk governing document owners
About you
Your story will include strong interpersonal skills in establishing relationships with senior stakeholders, as well as effective time management to meet deadlines. In addition to this, you will have a highly developed skillset in risk, compliance or governance, strong influencing skills, appropriate report generation skills including in Excel, Powerpoint and Word, relevant tertiary qualifications, experience in the monitoring of compliance and governance space across a broad range of insurance operations, with experience within the industry, as well as knowledge of the products and concepts relating to the financial services industry. In addition to this, you are able to take initiative, juggle multiple competing priorities, and have experience working within a complex environment.
