About the role:
This role will be developing policy, publications, reports, research and submissions to bring attention to the issue of child and youth homelessness or other related social issues.
You will have an ability to analyse data and translate it into a format that clearly articulates a social issue and provides pragmatic policy solutions.
Essential for the role:
- Experience in developing policy and advocacy activities in the homelessness or a related sector.
- Demonstrated ability in policy analysis, social research and knowledge translation.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to write clearly and succinctly for a variety of purposes.
- Effective organisational and time management skills, including the ability to work with minimal supervision as part of a small team. The role will be responsible for managing the Policy Officer and other team members as required.
- Understanding of the issues affecting children and young people at risk of or experiencing homelessness and domestic/family violence in Australia.
- Strong IT skills, including experience using the Microsoft Office suite.
- Current New South Wales working with children check.
