Key Responsibilities
- Assist in identifying, researching and analysing complex policy issues relating to the provision of services to vulnerable people.
- Prepare and contribute to the preparation of timely and well-researched submissions, briefs and other policy documents on complex issues.
- Support more senior officers with preparation for inter-departmental and sectoral meetings.
- Liaise and collaborate with other areas of the OPG, government agencies and non-government organisations on policy issues, maintaining positive and collaborative relationships with key stakeholders.
- Provide high-level advice on relevant policy, legislation and practice.
- Understand, or can quickly acquire an understanding of, child protection, youth justice, guardianship, disability, aged care and mental health sectors, particularly in relation to regulatory and policy frameworks and service delivery.
