Safe Transport Victoria is a newly established entity, following the merger of Commercial Passenger Vehicles Victoria and Transport Safety Victoria.

Safe Transport Victoria regulates safety, compliance, accreditation and registration for the bus, maritime and commercial passenger vehicle industries.

Safe Transport Victoria is strengthening Victoria's transport regulatory functions, bringing together leading experts to deliver education, support and direction to the operators, managers and users of Victoria's commercial passenger vehicles, bus and waterway systems.

Senior Policy Officer x 2 positions

$105,479 - $127,621 p.a. (+ 10% superannuation)

Fixed-term until 31 December 2023

Reporting to Safe Transport Victoria's Senior Manager Policy, the Senior Policy and Project Officer is responsible for supporting the development and delivery of State Government policy and regulatory requirements applying to those industries regulated by Safe Transport Victoria.

The role will focus on transport safety policy development for the commercial passenger vehicle, bus and maritime sectors, providing high-level policy advice to Safe Transport Victoria on complex and often contentious issues where innovative and consultative responses are required, as well as providing project management expertise and related support for key regulatory safety initiatives.

Requirements and relevant information

Applicants must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or hold a valid work permit or visa.

The successful candidate will be required to undergo pre-employment checks and misconduct screening.
