The Opportunity
We are in an exciting stage of growth and are looking for a Senior Pre-sales Technical Consultant to join our high-performing sales team.
This role forms a key part of the client facing data centre team, owning the presales/technical consultancy responsibilities for the Data Centre business unit and working closely with the VP of Sales. You will be directly involved in large complex bid responses for the unit and the lead for technical compliance during the sales process with the customer, often working to specific requirements of large global enterprise, cloud and hyperscaler companies.
As a Senior Tehcnical Consultant, you will act as the experienced technical interface between the customer and internal stakeholder groups during all pre-sales activity and bid responses. The role is expected to have an in depth technical and engineering knowledge in the areas of data centre or infrastructure-based solutions, with a strong focus being directed towards the implementation of complex and large deployments with multiple stakeholders both internally and within the end customer. \n
What you'll do
- Own and manage the content preparation of responses to RFT's and equivalents on data centre solutions with the VP of Sales, meeting deadlines specific technical evaluation / site selection criteria for major customer targets
- Build RFT technical database and best practice for tender responses, templated answers and bid intelligence
- Build and manage relationships with key vendor / consultant partners to ensure availability and accuracy of technical information for bid timelines and technical responses
- Design solutions that are fit for purpose and are a sound technical and capacity match to our customers business requirements
- Oversee the development of, and later management of the Data Centres bid management tools and response templates / documents to ensure consistency and efficient responses to RFP's / tenders
- A Degree in Engineering (Electrical)/Computer Science or a minimum of 8 years' experience in the Data Centre or Technology space - preferably within large infrastructure projects
- Detailed knowledge of infrastructure solutions and competitors' products and solutions
- Extensive experience in hosting solutions, network design, systems integration or technical support role is highly desirable
- Ability to communicate in all forms to C-level stakeholders. You can easily impart ideas, particularly of a complex and technical nature
