Our Client, a large Federal Government Department is seeking an experienced Senior Technical Business Analyst with a strong focus on Data to join their team that is transofrming the Data and Analytics capability of the Department. The role will support the program by collaborating with business and technical users of the Data & Analytics technology to author high quality business and technical requirements that align to the target architecture and business use cases.
The role will be critical to the success of the program by being a trusted voice that all areas of the program can interact with to bring together the business need with the technology solution.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop a traceability framework for project team members to follow to ensure all project deliverables link to an agreed business outcome via succinct and unambiguous business and technical requirements;
- Elicit and document business and technical requirements to support the strategy and goals of the Agency as they relate to the Data & Analytics transformation program;
- Analyse and document business process and data flows to provide current and future state context to support business and technical requirements;
Analyse and document recommendations to stakeholders to improve business outcomes where improvements in process or solution have been identified; - Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure appropriate stakeholders are included in the development of business and technical requirements, including facilitating relevant workshops, meetings, working groups, etc;
- Review and provide feedback on business and technical design documents to ensure designs align with expected business outcomes, as captured by business and technical requirements;
- Input to the design and implementation of solutions that deliver to the business and technical requirements and meet the expected business and technical outcomes.
Essential Criteria
- Demonstrated expertise leading business and technical requirement development and stakeholder validation.
- Demonstrated expertise documenting data and process flows to analyse and provide context to business and technical requirements.
- Demonstrated experience leading Technical Business Analyst teams and being involved in a large-scale business transformation program.
- Experience implementing Data Lake and/or Data Warehouse applications and accompanying data architecture (e.g. Data Models, ETL, data governance, security).
- Able to understand and capture business requirements relating to use/application of data to business problems.
- Ability to gather, analyse and translate business data to meaningful insights.
- Hands on experience with agile product development process for data products.
- Demonstrated expertise developing detailed User Stories and User Acceptance Criteria.
- Intermediate skills with JIRA and Confluence, Visio, Excel, PowerPoint, Word.
- Practical Agile Delivery framework experience, developing Initiatives, Epics, User Stories and other documentation.
Desirable Criteria : Experience as a scrum master; Experience creating wireframes; Data analysis skills; Experience working in data businesses.
