The purpose of the Senior Pricing Advisor role is to develop and integrate end-to-end pricing capability and insights across Commercial Insurance Long tail products. Products covered within our team include Professional Indemnity, Corporate Liability, and Surety.
This role would encompass assisting team performance to maximise effectiveness in a dynamic environment; gain customer insight to support the team in delivering exceptional customer service; collaborating with other teams and external consultants; remove blockages to performance; escalate issues; and look for ways to simplify processes.
Key Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Develop pricing recommendations and proposals designed to closely align pricing strategy to budget and accurately implement timely price changes timely within the business/function
- Execute commercial data capability by contributing to existing Commercial pricing infrastructure as well as supporting the build of modelling ready datasets
- Lead pricing and Senior Pricing analysts to model products and covers and deliver higher level premium adequacy reviews
- Lead pricing initiatives to explore, develop both internal and external data/modelling capabilities
- Provide Pricing support to broader strategic and/or regulatory projects and transformation
- Collaborate with Commercial & Consumer Pricing Managers to deliver business objectives.
Skills & Experience:
- Relevant degree in Business, Actuarial Studies, Mathematics & Data Analytics or related field
- 5+ years experience in general insurance pricing or other actuarial roles
- Ability to guide Junior team members is desirable.
- Knowledge of, and experience in, using SAS, Excel, R and other programming skillsets.
- Strong knowledge of Commercial insurance Products and Pricing of key business drivers
- Experience in Actuarial IBNR/IBNER models
- Ability to develop solutions and courses of action by using an information base to identify key issues, compare with other data and determine cause-effect relationships.
