Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a Chartered Senior or Principal Geotechnical Engineer to join this dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of experience and a strong background in Geotechnical Engineering, preferably with expertise in locally-based infrastructure projects. This role requires a proactive individual who can work autonomously, manage a team, and engage in business development activities. While based primarily in their office in Ballina, this role may involve occasional local travel and the flexibility to work from home within reason.
Responsibilities:
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior staff members.
- Undertake slope remediation, stability design, bridge pile design, settlements analysis, and soft soils assessment.
- Offer hands-on construction phase support, ensuring end-to-end project management.
- Liaise with clients, government agencies, and construction firms to deliver high-quality solutions.
- Review and approve engineering documentation and reports.
- Maintain compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Chartered status in Geotechnical Engineering.
- Bachelor's degree in Geotechnical or Civil Engineering.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
- Previous experience working with TfNSW accreditation for slope design is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with local and state government infrastructure projects.
- Competitive salary up to $150k AUD per annum, plus superannuation and vehicle allowance.
