The Opportunity
We now have an exciting opportunity available for a Senior Process Safety Systems Engineer to join our Engineering and Planning team in Perth, Brisbane or Melbourne on a Permanent Full Time Basis.
Reporting to the Team Lead Process Safety Systems, you will play a key role in supporting the Team Lead Process Safety Systems to operationalise APA's Process Safety strategy systems of work, to utilise Process Safety understanding and learning throughout the business, and to provide Process Safety guidance to support APA operating within risk targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Champion all aspects of APA's Process Safety Management Framework within the business, accountable for Process Safety Incident Reporting and Investigation.
- Support the continuous improvement and reporting of Process Safety KPI's, identification of trends and opportunities for improvement.
- Work with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the key barriers from the operational safety cases or process hazard assessments are consistently identified, ready to operate, and the risks managed when they are impaired.
- Facilitate risk assessments to support business activities.
- Support Process Safety assurance activities including safe systems of work and compliance with standards and legislation.
- Support the delivery of improvement initiatives and projects (such as SCE management and Power Asset Integration) to improve availability and access to Process Safety information.
Your background
- Extensive experience in Process Safety (Oil & Gas or energy industry).
- Tertiary qualification in Engineering
- Experience in managing risk in energy operations.
- Working knowledge of Environmental and Health and Safety legislative requirements and Standards applicable to natural gas operation, energy generation and transmission
- HAZOP / LOPA facilitator experience (accreditation desirable)
- Experience with preparation of Safety Cases including BowTie analysis
- Proven capability in project management or improving operations processes
About the Team
The Process Safety team is part of the wider Engineering and Planning team that support APA's Operation. The Process Safety team collaborate and partner with other teams to ensure that APA is operating within the target process risk. We now have an opportunity for a Senior Engineer wanting to further strengthen their understanding and application of Process Safety to join us on a Permanent Full Time Contract.
