AddressKingston Human Capital is partnering with one of Queensland’s leading Government Departments to engage an experienced Senior Procurement and Contracts Officer for an initial 6 months, with possible extension.
In this role, you will provide operational, tactical and strategic procurement services for operational staff and develop and promote procurement ‘best practice’ and contract performance.
You will be required to provide sound procurement advice and services while developing effective relationships with internal clients, client groups, supporting agencies, commercial suppliers and staff through liaison, negotiation and consultation to successfully deliver a high-quality procurement service.
Key Duties
As the Senior Procurement and Contracts Officer, you will:
- Lead and deliver end-to-end procurement requirements on multiple key projects that support Queensland's success on the global stage.
- Develop and negotiate contracts for various categories of spend, including planning, specification development, tendering, evaluation, negotiation and award.
- Provide expert advice on specifications, evaluating offers, contract management and/or administration, supply market analysis and other general procurement activities.
- Develop and negotiate contracts that are required without a procurement process (MOU's, SLA's and other contracts)
To be considered for this role, you will demonstrate
- Minimum of 2 years experience in government procurement
- Minimum Level 2 Procurement Certificate (highly desirable)
- A desire to be part of a high-profile team
- Dedication to procurement best practices and excellence
- Possess excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills (written and verbal)
