Eden Ritchie is seeking a Senior Procurement and Contracts Officer to deliver support and advice across the procurement lifecycle based on Department priorities, needs, and objectives.
- 4 month contract with possible 6 month extension
- Brisbane CBD location
As the Senior Procurement and Contracts Officer, your key responsibilities will include:
- Deliver assigned work and provide specialist accurate procurement support and advice in alignment with Chief Procurement Officer direction, and review and respond to performance metrics to continuously improve and optimise procurement outcomes.
- Provide timely, professional, and strategic procurement advice to stakeholders and suppliers on procurement processes and practices as they relate to and are affected by legislation and Queensland Government Procurement and Department policies, procedures, delegations, and guidelines.
- Undertake end to end strategic procurement activities to deliver the procurement outcome for the stakeholder, including:
- Procurement planning, sourcing strategy and approval
- Completion of procurement documentation to release to market
- Tender administration
- Lead evaluation and negotiation for supplier selection
- Finalise the award of the contract (including preparing contract documents)
- Manage contract handover to contract manager.
- Contract management including planning, contract administration, reporting and incident management
- Monitoring contract performance with robust KPI’s and performance management
- Management of contractual disputes and invoicing issues
- Prepare contract variations and contract extensions for assigned contracts ensuring that appropriate process and relevant documentation is maintained.
- Undertake contract negotiations as required to ensure operational efficiency and value in the delivery of assigned contracts
- Provide subject matter expertise in relation to the management and utilisation of assigned contracts.
- Develop and maintain effective networks and stakeholder relationships including internal stakeholders, public sector bodies, industry, and suppliers.
- Conduct site visits to external suppliers and correctional facilities as necessary, to effectively forge and maintain productive and appropriate relationships that allow swift identification and resolution of any presenting or perceived issues.
- Prepare and/or review performance reports, briefing notes, and other correspondence in accordance with departmental standards.
- Maintain the record management systems including databases, registers, and other procurement systems whilst also contributing to system improvements to increase their efficiency and effectiveness.
The ideal candidate will execute assigned tasks, offer contract support and guidance in accordance with the Chief Procurement Officer's directives, and analyse and address performance metrics to enhance and optimise procurement results, emphasising contract administration.
