We are currently seeking a Senior Production Engineer to join our team on a permanent basis at Tropicana Gold Mine.
Reporting to the Operations Superintendent, this role has a mix between a technical and leadership tasks and will lead and provide guidance to a well-connected and supportive team of open pit Production Engineers.
This role is offered on an 8/6 FIFO roster with flights directly to site from Perth or Kalgoorlie. Other flexible roster options will also be considered.
Accountabilities:
- Coordinating coaching and mentoring Mining Engineers on daily activities
- Provide technical expertise, support and ongoing development of the Production team
- Ensure implementation and compliance of the Weekly Plan
- Peer review and quality control of the engineering design and plans
- Ensure all engineering and planning activities comply with the relevant site standards and operating procedures
- Providing production inputs to Monthly plan and communicate risks with key stakeholders
About You
People are at the heart of everything we do. We want you to collaborate with us, share your ideas and feel confident to challenge the status quo. To be considered, we would like to see you have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering or equivalent
- Previous operational experience in hard rock open pit mining
- Prior experience in mine design and scheduling software (Vulcan, Surpac or Deswik)
- Competent in daily/weekly and monthly planning
- Strong understanding of open pit mining practice
- Knowledge of open pit design, scheduling and drilling and blasting
- Proficient computer skills with MS Office
- Experience of mentoring graduate/mining engineers
- Effective written and oral communication skills, including report writing, procedural and training documentation.
- Unrestricted Quarry manager certificate or ability to acquire one - Desirable
- A current Western Australian ‘C’ class drivers license
- Ability to obtain a National Police Clearance
- Permanent work rights in Australia are mandatory
