Project Engineer – Structural / Mechanical - Decommissioning

This opportunity will see you join a reputable company with a highly experienced team who work together to develop and provide solutions for our customers. This position will deliver scopes of work associated with the decommissioning and removal of offshore assets within the Bass Strait. Based in Victoria, and reporting to the Completions Lead – Decommissioning you will be integral in working through best practice for cutting and removal of structural components of redundant platforms ready for removal.
About You
You will inspire your team, draw on their diverse skills and create an environment where great ideas are heard, and everyone looks out for one another. Ideally you will have:
· Tertiary Engineering qualification with demonstrated experience in Mechanical and / or Structural disciplines or relevant industry experience
· Knowledge of relevant safety legislation
· Developed skills in working with site-based engineering teams in developing project scope, planning and estimating and project delivery
· Demonstrated ability to interpret and understand project controls concepts including Earnt Value, S-Curves, Cost to Complete, burn rates and forecasting
· Demonstrated previous experience within the offshore oil & gas or petrochemical plant industry
Key responsibility areas
· Ensure all onsite works are completed in line with UGL’s and the Client’s Health & Safety safe work policies and procedures
· Ensure that project planning incorporates HSE requirements for safe execution of work
· Work closely with client engineers and stakeholders for the estimating and planning of project works
· Work with UGL Leads and Supervisors to ensure project delivery outcomes are met, resources are managed, and spares and materials are available as required
· Coordinate subcontractors for the delivery of outsourced tasks to ensure cohesive project outcomes
· Implement and manage a project execution plan and lead execution strategies, oversee the monitoring, reporting and controlling of all strategies required
· Develop project cost estimate, monitor and control costs
· Develop project schedule with UGL scheduler, providing regular schedule updates for the purpose of reporting
· Work closely with supervisors to ensure scope changes are managed and documented in accordance with the approved variation management procedure
