The RFS Reform Implementation team is responsible for developing, implementing, reviewing and supporting the reform of strategic direction for the provision of holistic rural fire management, including but not limited to risk management, mitigation, operations, human resource management and business management. The team will work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to develop plans to enhance service delivery across all areas of business, build capability of RFS, and meet legislative requirements. Team members will play an integral part in identifying, supporting and enhancing service provision, for volunteers and staff, to deliver a professional service to the community on a 24 / 7 basis, in line with phases of prevention, preparedness, response and recovery.Reporting to the Manager, you will be a key member of the team, assisting in the delivery of multiple strategic initiatives relating to the RFS Reform Implementation. - Experience in project management or knowledge of project management methodologies.
- Knowledge of organisational change management principles.
- Experience in software packages such as Visio, MS Teams and SharePoint.
- Contribute to the implementation of strategies and plans of complex projects and ensure alignment with organisational requirements, in line with departmental project management methodologies and governance frameworks.
- Develop and/or provide input into project documentation i.e. project plans, schedules, registers, stakeholder engagement and benefits plans to identify opportunities, manage risk and improve efficiency and quality outcomes.
- Assist program lead(s) with the management and implementation of multiple strategic initiatives, including any associated tasks to ensure quality project outcomes meet stakeholder objectives.
- Undertake research and analysis, to support the implementation of various initiatives and projects, including identifying opportunities for improvement in processes and service delivery.
- Prepare high level departmental reports, submissions, and other correspondence and communication on a range of complex and confidential issues related to project plans and schedules.
- Develop and maintain professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support project activities and ensure program delivery meets desired timeframes.
- Represent the department in relevant forums and facilitate working groups to meet agreed outcomes and ensure key project deliverables and timeframes are achieved.
- Maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism surrounding sensitive issues whilst providing direct support to the effective operations of the team and various working groups and encouraging staff commitment and innovation.
