Concentis and Gladstone Port Corporation have partnered to source a Development Planning Lead / Project Studies Manager to manage the concept design and feasibility stages of critical asset expansions and greenfield developments.
Reporting to the Head of Planning & Strategy, you will be tasked with leading various strategic projects related to port infrastructure & hydrogen renewables through early gating and study phases to strive towards the realization of GPC’s 2050 vision.
This is a full-time permanent position that requires the individual to be located in Gladstone or surrounding area with an attractive relocation package provided for the successful applicant.
Accountabilities:
- Oversee planning and optimisation of port land, new port infrastructure and major infrastructure upgrades to meet GPC’s commercial requirements
- Provide services for successful opportunity definition and capture including concept and framing studies, options identification and assessment, engineering designs and solutions, project schedule development, costings, risk
- Establish and review project governance, ensuring accuracy and alignment with overall vision and objectives
- Strengthen GPC’s development planning capabilities and provide continuous improvement suggestions
- Liaise with a variety of stakeholders including government agencies and service providers to achieve successful project outcomes
- Balance project requirements with ESG, social impact, safety, and constraints to ensure the ideal outcomes are achieved for all
About You:
- Formal qualifications in Project Management with an Engineering Degree & RPEQ seen as desirable
- Strong background in project/study engineering management within an Oil & Gas, Mining or Heavy Industrial setting
- Proven track record of delivering concept and feasibility stages of large-scale work
- Extensive understanding of the full project lifecycle gated process
- Experience within marine, port infrastructure and/or renewable energy would be seen as highly beneficial
- Strong ability to liaise with internal and external stakeholders including those in government agencies and/or service providers
- High level of interpersonal, verbal and written skills to have the ability to influence key stakeholders and create positive relationships to overcome resistance to change
- Demonstrated ability to model, foster, and advocate for a positive safety culture
