The primary role of the Senior Project Manager - Major Projects is to manage the successful implementation of major community infrastructure projects within Moira's capital delivery program. You will play a critical part in the development and execution of these projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, on budget, and to high-quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all aspects of project development, planning, tendering and implementation of Council's Major Projects delivered on time, on budget, and to quality standards, adhering to the Council's project management framework.
- Prepare and develop existing business cases and project plans, establish appropriate governance, identify, allocate and manage resources, and meet stakeholder reporting requirements in a timely and effective manner.
- Develop Stakeholder Management Plans and carry out necessary stakeholder engagement as required during project development and delivery.
- Develop and implement strategies and tools for continuous monitoring and evaluation of Major Projects.
- Consistently assess project progress and overall effectiveness.
- Oversee safety standards in conjunction with the Council's OH&S systems, ensuring safety targets are achieved and a safe workplace culture is maintained.
- Collaborate and engage regularly with customers and stakeholders to meet project objectives.
Requirements for the Role:
- Tertiary qualification in engineering, project management, or a related field, or extensive experience in community infrastructure projects.
- Certified Professional (AIPM, EA, PMI) highly desired
- Demonstrated project management skills with experience managing projects ranging from $5 to $30 million, including expertise in risk management and mitigation strategies.
- Proficiency in relevant computer skills and project management software, along with a strong understanding of financial principles and budget management for large-scale projects.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with strong leadership abilities and experience managing project teams.
- Commitment to continuous improvement, innovation in project processes, and the ability to navigate compliance, governance, and stakeholder engagement in a municipal setting.
