What are we after?

We are looking for a Senior Project Manager who loves leveraging creative ways of working to address traditional business problems with creative solutions.

Our ideal Project Manager is a dynamic problem solver who will work in cross-functional teams to design, develop, and maintain management consulting solutions from proposal to final delivery. They must be comfortable working as part of a team and tackling projects that can sometimes be ambiguous or subject to constant change.

What are the Key Deliverables?

• Accountable for developing the project strategy and managing scope, solution and delivery approach.
• Accountable for defining delivery plans and managing execution against the plan, optimising sequence in line with prioritisation, resource capacity, capability and other constraints.  Facilitating option assessments, trade-off conversations and impact assessments as required
• Accountable for integrating release and implementation activities across technology delivery partners, and business functions.
• Identify and manage project/stream risks, issues, and dependencies, liaising as required with other Program Leads and/or business leads.
• Build effective working relationships with Business and Technology stakeholders and delivery partners, integrating input from across the group to make decisions, implement change and optimise outcomes.
• Adopting and contributing to practical and consistent framework, tools, methods and principles to facilitate effective Program and Project delivery.
• Contribute to the design, embedment and management of the division’s strategic execution system, and the role of Program Delivery within it. 

Governance & Risks

• Accountable for ensuring assigned Programs/Projects adhere to Divisional and Group policies e.g. PMO Governance Framework, Internal Risk Framework.
• Integrate first-line Quality Assurance activities through the delivery lifecycle, and contribute to second-line QA and Audit as required.
• Provide governance and reporting over delivery teams, delivery partners and vendor progress.

Knowledge

• Insurance experience - highly desirable
• Financial Services experience - desirable
• Worked in the delivery of complex technical initiatives
• Understanding complex business environments
• Risk Management knowledge
• Budgetary responsibility
• Tertiary qualifications in business, management, IT or related fields
• Program/Project Management Certification
• Agile/Scrum Certification

What are the essential skills and qualifications?

• Demonstrated experience and track record in leading multiple projects with budgets up to at least $5m, or leading streams within large-scale, multi-dimensional, multi-year programs.
• 5+ years in Project delivery across a diverse range of projects e.g. business transformation, application development, cultural change
• Experience in implementing HR projects. Previous SMCR, BEAR or FAR experience is highly regarded.
• Delivery of complex solutions across business and technology
• Experience in Financial Services, ideally General Insurance
• Demonstrated senior stakeholder management and engagement
• Demonstrated experience in cost management, budgeting and forecasting
• Knowledge and understanding of program management tools and methodologies and their application in various scenarios.
• Team management skills with demonstrable experience in driving delivery outcomes of a team
