The Victoria Project Management team has an opportunity for a Senior Project Manager / Contract Superintendent to service our growing client base and complexity of projects in Melbourne.
You will have strong and demonstrable experience in procurement and construction phase of a diverse range of projects, with previous Australian experience acting with autonomy for all the functions as a Superintendent on construct only and D&C contracts.
This diverse and exciting position will see you involved in:
- Contract site activities
- Project scope establishment, tender preparation, and project management
- Contract administration including certification of claims, extensions of time, quality of workmanship and claims made under the contract
- Frequent liaison with designers, approval stakeholders, contractors and clients
- Resolution of contractual issues and
- Managing the consultancy budget
- Mentoring and development of junior team members
- Degree qualified engineer or construction management professional with ideally 7+ years' of experience in the management of design and preparation of technical documentation, projects.
- A deep understanding of and in depth practical experience as Superintendent administering common standard form contracts like AS2124, 4000 and 4300
- The ability to apply judgement and a sound understanding of the law of the contract and project documents to make determinations, certifications and directions.
- The ability to appreciate a project and the value the client seeks to derive from it and use that to work in a collaborative and proactive manner with stakeholders, designers, clients and contractors to deliver outcomes.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, a positive mindset and drive with a passion for personal development.
- Flexibility to work autonomously and in diverse teams including the mentoring and direction of junior staff.
