Where you’ll be working
Activity Based Management (ABM) is made up of specialists in costing, funding, analytics, ABM applications and stakeholder engagement. The team has overarching responsibility to support the NSW public health system with advice, guidance, education and training in the application, strategic management and progression of Activity Based Management.
ABM's role in the application of Activity Based Management across NSW Health is to:
- Set costing standards and coordinate clinical costing submissions via the District and Network Return (DNR).
- Determine the State Efficient Price for ABF hospitals and small rural hospitals.
- Develop and maintain the ABM Portal and other ABM application tools, education materials and resources used by NSW Health stakeholders.
- Work in partnership with national bodies on the development of new and refined classifications and funding approaches.
- Work with managers and clinicians to review clinical variation based on patient level costing data.
About the Role
The Senior Project Officer - Activity Based Management (ABM) will:
- Provide support to the exploration and development of innovative solutions to advance NSW as a world leader in sustainable health care through Activity Based Management.
- Collaboratively influence the implementation of Activity Based Management approaches across the NSW health system that lead to better value care, improved health outcomes and informed decision making.
- Provide support to the strategic evaluation and development of clinical costing across NSW Health through Activity Based Management.

New applicants must have completed the vaccination course prior to commencement with NSW Health, or provide an Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement certifying the worker cannot have any approved COVID-19 vaccines available in NSW.
Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Booster doses are highly recommended for all health care workers who have completed the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations.
