This position requires: Demonstrated project management experience and understanding of principles, practices and methodologies for the protected area management and knowledge of land administration, the dedication/revocation of protected areas, the acquisition/disposal of land including spatial skills. Applied knowledge of authorities in relation to national parks and other protected areas including the ability to quickly understand relevant legislation i.e., Nature Conservation Act 1990, and Forestry Act 1959, policies and frameworks and ensure processes comply with the relevant legislation, departmental policies, relevant standards, statutory requirements, and landholder obligations. Interpersonal, problem solving and negotiation skills and the ability to successfully initiate and implement change and continuous improvement for good outcomes. Ambition to drive results to achieve departmental objectives. Demonstrated consultation skills/experience and the ability to undertake high level written and verbal communication (including stakeholder liaison, advice and preparation of written reports, and complex ministerial and executive correspondence and briefs).
