Senior Project Officer, Transaction Management

As a Senior Project Officer, you will play a key role in supporting the successful execution of construction contracts and the overall management of health infrastructure projects. Working within the Transaction Management Team, you will be responsible for coordinating and overseeing transactions related to construction contracts, ensuring compliance, efficiency, and value creation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Transaction Management Team to develop Transaction Management and negotiation strategies for construction contracts.
- Provide expertise and guidance on complex transactional and contracting matters, particularly those exceeding $100 million in value or with unique characteristics.
- Support tender negotiations and the management of multi-stage contracts, conducting due diligence and facilitating communication between stakeholders.
- Liaise with government agencies, private sector partners, and other relevant stakeholders to ensure seamless integration and collaboration across all project phases.
- Maintain a deep understanding of construction contracting regulations and procedures, particularly those specific to Queensland Government projects.
- Uphold the highest standards of compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies, identifying and mitigating risks as needed.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of processes and procedures within the Transaction Management Team, driving efficiency and innovation.
- Assist in the development of project documentation, reports, and presentations as required.
- Proven experience in project management, contract management, or Transaction Management, preferably within the construction or healthcare sector.
- Deep knowledge of construction contracting, with experience handling contracts of significant value and complexity.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess risks, identify opportunities, and develop effective strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with Queensland Government procurement processes and regulations is highly desirable.
- Certification in project management (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) is an asset.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Construction Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related discipline is highly regarded.
