The EQIP Program is a transformational, multi-year program of work consisting of five projects. It will establish the department's first centralised, unified repository for all key data across the organisation, underpinned by robust data governance and quality control processes, to enable enhanced analytics and reporting capabilities that deliver priority intelligence and insights to school and corporate staff.The program will strengthen the department's ability to support staff to make evidence-informed decisions that enable the delivery of quality education and early childhood services, and empower them through providing trusted, timely information in a form they can easily use and apply to their operational and strategic needs.The positionWe need a Project Support Officer to join the EQIP Program to assist our Delivery Manager and other program team members stay on top of the tasks needed to successfully deliver the Program. This is a rare and exciting opportunity to be a part of a large, transformational program that is reshaping how the Department of Education in Queensland works with and uses the vast amount of information at its disposal to support decision-making, drive its strategic agenda and deliver quality education to Queensland children.Reporting to the Program Manager, the Project Officer will need to work effectively with a broad range of people and assist a team of highly capable resources to best utilise their talents together.Main tasks and activities
- Assist in the planning and delivery of projects that will be introducing new ways of working and have a high-level of stakeholder engagement.
- Prepare Project and Program Board packs
- Contribute to robust processes and practices that support the effective governance and controls of the Program and its projects.
- Ensure project financial reporting is accurate and up to-date.
- Become the go-to-person to keep things moving in the right direction with a positive working relationship within the team and with our stakeholders.
- Schedule stakeholder meetings and workshops, and prepare agendas and minutes.
- Maintain RAID (Risks, Actions, Issues and Decisions) registers.
- Compile project reporting on a regular and ad-hoc basis.
- Ability to quickly solve problems in a constructive way and keep the project moving forward.
- Experience working within multi-disciplinary teams against scheduled project milestones.
- Strong stakeholder management and engagement skills, with the ability to collaborate with business staff to help move the assigned deliverables forward.
- Highly developed collaboration skills with business and technical stakeholders.
- Tenacious, well organised and able to work with other people effectively.
- Demonstrated ability to self-manage with competing priorities.
- Experience in M365 tool set, including MS Teams and SharePoint.
- Experience in JIRA task management will be well regarded.
- Experience working within State Government projects would be well regarded.
