The RoleThe
Senior People and Culture Advisor provides operational support services and strategic advice to Victorian Fisheries Authority (VFA) staff and managers. This role is responsible for delivering a full range of HR generalist best practice advice and support on a tactical and operational basis to all client groups across the VFA. It has a particular emphasis on leading recruitment, reporting, workcover and return to work processes, internal staff HR communications and the performance review process, whilst maintaining alignment to HR policies and procedures.
The TeamThe VFA is a statutory authority established to facilitate the effective management of Victoria's fisheries resources in a coordinated and strategic way that ensures their ongoing sustainability. The VFA functions to ensure that the Government, the recreational and commercial fishing sectors, and the Victorian community can share in and obtain the benefits from sustainable fisheries management.The VFA has around 190 employees located in the Melbourne CBD, metropolitan Melbourne and across regional Victoria.
About you- Demonstrated knowledge and practical working experience in an advisor or business partner role
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Good understanding and experience using various HRIS software programs, procurement systems, and Microsoft products
- Strong attention to detail
- Committed to delivering high quality outcomes for VFA Managers and staff
- Seeks all relevant information for problem-solving
- Understanding of policies, principles and practices
