Beany was founded over 10 years ago in New Zealand and 2 years ago in Australia with a mission to change the accounting game, by putting care for our clients and work-life balance for our team first. Our accounting team uses their technical expertise and excellent customer service to help our clients focus on what they do best - running their business - while we take care of the numbers. We've developed our own software to streamline admin for our accountants, freeing them up to focus on the important stuff.
The Role
We are looking for an experienced senior accountant to work with us on a contract or casual basis. The role may have the option to become permanent for the right person. This role is focused on working with new and existing business owners to help improve their business lives. You will be:
- Reviewing tax returns and financial statements, ensuring compliance with tax laws and regulations
- Provide exceptional service to a wide range of clients, including proactive communication, understanding their issues and providing support and advice
- Dealing with the ATO and ASIC on behalf of our clients
- Assisting in the development of the Beany product by identifying common issues so that we can adjust our systems or provide information proactively or add items into our knowledge base
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients
Skills and Experience
- CA/CPA
- 5 years minimum previous practice experience at senior accountant level
- Registered Tax Agent (preferable)
- Digitally savvy, happy to work across numerous systems
- High empathy and communication skills both verbally and in writing
- A progressive attitude and a strong desire to provide a high level of service to clients
- Problem-solving and time management skills
- Knowledge of AU business legislation and compliance requirements, particularly with ASIC and the ATO
- Team player with a positive attitude
