Intro Recruitment is partnering with a Government Construction business with projects across Commercial and Residential building and maintenance. Due to recent growth and success, our client is looking to appoint a Senior Purchasing Officer - AO5/1.
The role:
- The position is responsible for providing a procurement service for the Modern Methods of Construction (MMC) Program team and developing and promoting procurement ‘best practice’ and contract performance across the MMC product and program. The position will focus on ensuring the services provided meet quality and value for money expectations of clients within required time frames.
- Manage and/or assistance in the management of various state-wide Standing Offer Arrangements and other key contracts.
- Establish robust relationships with suppliers and contractors focusing on competitive pricing, contract compliance, Key Performance Indicators etc.
- Communicate and work with various stakeholders (Regional Procurement Staff, Delivery, Program and Planning staff, Suppliers etc) providing assistance, guidance, and information on sourcing solutions for various projects, future works, goods/services supply, contract terms and conditions, supplier performance etc.
- Undertake and assist with strategic, complex and/or sensitive procurement activities to deliver procurement and contract management outcomes that support QBuild client agency objectives.
- Prepare and calling of tenders for a variety of categories involving construction, maintenance, consulting and upgrade activities, including evaluation and regulatory techniques.
- Undertake operational purchasing activities including ordering goods/services and processing a range of purchase orders and field release orders.
- Comprehensive understanding and knowledge of Queensland Procurement Policy and other policies and legislation relating to procurement.
- Demonstrate professionalism, be an enthusiastic contributor to QBuild’s culture and a positive member of the Procurement team providing the highest standard of customer service.
- Excel skills are mandatory
- Experienced in computer applications
- Sound typing skills with good accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and part of a team
- Ability to work under pressure to meet timeframes
- Good with Numbers
