Are you a seasoned procurement professional with a knack for managing contracts and building strong supplier relationships? We're looking for a dedicated Senior Purchasing Officer to join our client's team in Robina. This is an exciting opportunity, where you'll play a crucial role in delivering exceptional procurement and contract management outcomes.
- AO5 equivalent $62 + p/h + super
- Based in Robina, Gold Coast
- Starting ASAP - up to 6 months with possibility for extension, pending business requirements.
About the role
Your responsibilities will include but not limited to:
- Contract Management: Manage and assist in the management of various statewide Standing Offer Arrangements and other key contracts.
- Supplier Relationships: Establish robust relationships with suppliers and contractors focusing on competitive pricing, contract compliance, and KPIs.
- Stakeholder Communication: Collaborate with Regional Procurement Staff, Delivery, Program and Planning staff, Suppliers, and other stakeholders to provide assistance, guidance, and information on sourcing solutions for various projects, future works, goods/services supply, contract terms and conditions, and supplier performance.
- Strategic Procurement: Undertake and assist with strategic, complex, and/or sensitive procurement activities to deliver procurement and contract management outcomes that support our client agency objectives.
- Tender Preparation: Prepare and call for tenders across various categories including construction, maintenance, consulting, and upgrade activities, ensuring adherence to evaluation and regulatory techniques.
- Operational Purchasing: Conduct operational purchasing activities, including ordering goods/services and processing a range of purchase orders and field release orders.
- Policy Compliance: Maintain a comprehensive understanding and knowledge of Queensland Procurement Policy and other related policies and legislation.
- Professionalism: Demonstrate professionalism and be an enthusiastic contributor to our client's culture, acting as a positive member of the Procurement team and providing the highest standard of customer service.
About You
We are seeking candidates who possess:
- Proven experience in managing procurement and contract management activities.
- Strong ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with suppliers and contractors.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with various stakeholders.
- Demonstrated experience in strategic, complex, and sensitive procurement activities.
- Proficiency in preparing and evaluating tenders in construction, maintenance, and consulting categories.
- Familiarity with Queensland Procurement Policy and related procurement legislation.
- A professional demeanour with a commitment to contributing positively to team culture and customer service excellence.
- Must have full working rights in Australia.
