The Opportunity
This full-time maternity leave relief position is an exciting opportunity for a candidate with a registered nurse or health professional (qualified) background to assist in ensuring that Ozcare continues to meet its compliance obligations against the Aged Care Quality and NDIS Practice Standards.
Working closely with the Manager - Audit and Evaluation, you will be working as part of a team that conducts internal assessments against the Standards and be part of an environment that fosters continuous development.

Your Role
The Senior Quality Auditor will support the Manager - Audit and Evaluation in partnering with internal stakeholders to conduct independent reviews, both autonomously and as a team member, covering a diverse range of key business processes across the organisation; including risk management, internal control, clinical administration, and governance processes. As part of the role, you will also contribute with writing to support business analysis and assessment reports; and contribute to policy and procedure development to uphold compliance standards.
The primary objective of the role will be to conduct integrated high-quality audit reviews providing constructive and practical working solutions to address internal control deficiencies and operating inefficiencies.
Your tasks will include:
- Contribute to the continued enhancement and development of a quality audit methodology that will deliver a comprehensive programme of audits, reviews, investigations, data analytics, projects and internal tools and templates to ensure high quality outcomes in accordance with relevant professional standards and practice;
- Performing comprehensive ad-hoc and scheduled internal (clinical) audits to assess compliance with regulatory frameworks and organisational policies;
- Ensuring that personal work assignments are in line with the agreed audit methodology, and provide constructive and practical working solutions to address internal control deficiencies and operational inefficiencies;
- The delivery of timely high-quality written reports that are based on evidence and independent critical analysis that establish clear and unambiguous findings aimed at maximising the effectiveness and efficiency service delivery for Ozcare; and
- Contribute to business process development and knowledge base that ensures Ozcare can effectively demonstrate performance and compliance with a range of applicable requirements, while minimising risk exposure.
Your Attributes
We're looking for a person who has proven interpersonal and relationship management skills. You must have knowledge of auditing, compliance, or quality assurance roles, preferably in the healthcare sector. You will also need a strong understanding of regulatory frameworks and organisational policies.

Role Requirements

Essential Requirements
- Current National Police Check, prior to commencement
- Current Qld Drivers Licence
- Be vaccinated (and maintain up-to-date vaccinations) against Influenza and Covid-19
- Ability to travel Queensland (as required per scheduled work assignments)
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience gained in a large community service/ health not-for-profit Organisation
- Understanding of ISO 9001 or similar quality frameworks or standards, including a practical understanding and application of continuous quality improvement
- Understanding of how to evaluate, interpret, and synthesize complex information and draw logical conclusions and linkages
- Knowledge of risk and control frameworks from experience within a review/audit function and exposure to contemporary evaluation/audit methodologies and practices
- Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills to enable complex and integrated issues to be understood to ensure effective risk assurance is provided
- Well-developed communication (verbal and listening) and relationship management skills, including a high standard of professional business report writing
- Demonstrated leadership and motivational skills, including the ability to work autonomously within defined methodologies and timeframes
Desirable Requirements
While not essential requirements, Ozcare will consider any of the following favourably:
- Tertiary qualifications in an appropriate discipline (Management, Nursing or Commerce)
- Current membership with an accredited professional body, such as IIA (Institute of Internal Auditors) or AHPRA (Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency)
