About our opportunity
We are currently looking for an experienced Senior Records Officer to join our Customer Response Department!
As a Senior Records Officer, you will provide expert advice and administration support in the processing and management of Council records and archives.
Your day-to-day tasks may include, but not be limited to:
- Appraising files and documents whilst ensuring compliance with relevant records management legislation.
- Archiving secured files and documents.
- Providing exceptional support and guidance for any team member record management matters, including assistance with searches for Right to Information requests and retrievals
- Delivering projects associated with document processing, archiving and disposals.
In addition, you will be responsible for identifying process improvements related to records management, such as a proactive approach to reduce hard copy documents throughout the organisation.
About you
You will have strong demonstrated experience and technical knowledge within records management or a related field and a strong ability to identify and interpret information. In addition, you will understand and commit to maintaining privacy and confidentiality whilst handling and processing sensitive information.
You will possess the ability to process high work volumes and maintain a high degree of accuracy whilst demonstrating your well-developed people and relationship skills to effectively communicate within a team environment.
You will be able to demonstrate your ability to identify process improvements and communicate effectively across the organisation and within your team with a strong focus on customer service and optimising service delivery.
Experience in Local Government is highly desirable.
