We have exciting full-time permanent opportunities for Renewable Engineers of all levels of experience to join the Synergy Renewables Development team based at our Perth Head Office.
Working within our renewable development team, you will play an integral role in the identification and development of new renewable energy and storage assets, as well as the management of Synergy’s growing fleet of operating renewable facilities.
The successful candidates will have opportunities to participate in some, or all of, the following activities (depending on individual strengths, interests and desired development opportunities):
- Identifying new sites or potential acquisitions.
- Supporting engagement with landowners, neighbours, and the community.
- Conducting wind monitoring (for wind farm sites).
- Completing preliminary design and studies to achieve development approval.
- Engaging with Western Power to secure network access.
- Specifying and procuring equipment supply and supporting negotiation of construction contracts.
- Conducting due diligence (including on potential acquisitions).
- Preparing business case and securing financing.
- Play a role in identifying and developing new transmission connected renewable and storage projects from concept to final investment decision.
- Support the delivery of renewable and storage projects in the construction phase.
- Reviewing, coordinating, and supervising work completed by a cross functional team (including technical, commercial, environmental, legal, stakeholder engagement and procurement functions).
- Lead Engagement with external stakeholders – suppliers, host landowners, local government authorities, regulatory bodies, Western Power and AEMO.
- Support Synergy’s joint venture arrangement with Bright Energy Investments (BEI).
- Tertiary qualifications, with engineering qualifications preferred (but not essential). Renewables, Mechanical, Electrical, Civil or Control and Instrumentation with other disciplines considered.
- Previous experience in power/energy or renewables is desirable.
- Experience with project development, project management and/or grid connection and modelling would be highly regarded.
- Economic and financial acumen including the ability to interpret financial models.
- Ability to work collaboratively across multi-functional teams and interface with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders is crucial to the success of this role.
