The Fish Factory is excited to announce a job opportunity for a Senior Retail Shop Assistant. Seeking to fill full-time employment, the successful candidate will have a passion for exceptional customer service and retail operations. This role is offering a roster of 45 hours a week, with early morning starts! This opportunity is best suited to someone physically fit, with a sense of urgency and leadership. This role includes regular on-the-job training and the opportunity to work closely with the Assistant & General Manager. Your role

This role will encompass being a lead figure in the daily set-up and operation of our Retail Shop. With a focus on providing exceptional customer service, the successful candidate will possess a high sense of urgency with all tasks. Having a keen attention to detail, the right person will be a team player and take passion in our retail market. You will be equipped with strong communication skills, a positive attitude and willingness to learn! The successful candidate will have availability to work over weekends and be responsible for morning set-up and/or pack up of the retail market. Reporting to the General Manager, daily duties as a Shop Assistant include: 

• Fulfilment of customer walk-in orders and processing of payments.
• Replenishment of shelves.
• Stocking and organising of retail freezers.
• Product enquiries and general customer service.
• Set up and/or shut down of market. 
• Assistance with daily stocktake and rotation of stick for FIFO purposes. 
• General shop duties where required.

8. Excellent personal hygiene and presentation, 
9. Strong work ethic.

Desirable but not necessary 

1. Knowledge, qualification and/or application of training in food safety & hygiene standards,
