About Great River City Light Rail
Western Sydney is one of the fastest growing regions in our country, with the population of Greater Parramatta alone set to climb by 50 per cent by 2041 and at Great River City Light Rail we want to create new communities, connect great places and help locals and visitors move around and explore what the region has to offer. The new Light Rail will connect Westmead to Carlingford via the Parramatta CBD and Camellia, spanning 12 kilometres and utilising state-of-the-art vehicles that delivers comfortable, user-friendly and high-performance services. By 2026, around 28,000 people will use Parramatta Light Rail every day and an estimated 130,000 people will be living within walking distance of Light Rail stops.
The role
Reporting to the General Manager of Assets, you will be responsible for leading the asset team for the network and driving asset performance for continuous improvement while ensuring compliance with regulatory and HSEQ requirements. This will include liaising and coordinating with our internal and external stakeholders to resolve any maintenance requirements, risks or issues. In addition, you will be developing the capability of our maintenance team in the provision of safe and reliable Light Rail services. There will also be the opportunity to participate in the development and maintenance of contingency plans for crisis management.
What you bring
In addition to your tertiary education In Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or related), your background would include demonstrated experience working in Rolling Stock maintenance. Given the nature of the role you will have strong communication skills to engage and implement change within the business as well as build strong working relationships with our stakeholders. Your high-level problem-solving skills will allow you to manage difficult situations including responding to emergencies and restoring assets after incidents. As well as your collaborative approach you will have the ability to adapt to a fast paced and changing work environment.
