Position description
We seek an enthusiastic Senior Scientific Officer to join our Port Macquarie Laboratory, reporting directly to the Laboratory Manager. You will be an essential team member, and your responsibilities will include the following:
- Perform routine procedures.
- Maintaining and operating laboratory equipment and instruments.
- Adhering to standard laboratory protocols and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Collaborating with the team to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality results.
- Troubleshoot equipment and technical issues as they arise
We are looking for the following:
- Graduated with a Medical Science Degree or recognised AIMS equivalent.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in Haematology, Morphology and Blood Bank. While not essential, previous experience in Biochemistry and Microbiology would be an advantage.
- Participation in the after-hours and weekend rosters.
- Excellent attention to detail and good time management skills.
- Team player with the ability to work unsupervised
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
