Security Branch sits within Integrity, Security and Assurance (ISA) Division. The Branch is responsible for developing, implementing and administering security policies and procedures that promote a secure and safe work environment for departmental workers while providing adequate protection for the Department's information and assets.
The Security Coordination Centre (SCC) is the front door for Security Branch, responsible for central coordination of information and activities, including security incident management, reporting & analysis, physical access provisioning, first level resolution of security enquiries, as well as governance and secretariat support.
Our ideal candidate
- Experience with security incident management
- Knowledge of the Protective Security Policy Framework
- Experience in security risk assessment and security risk management
- Experience with Gallagher and/or other Electronic Access Control Systems (EACS)
- Experience with the Archer Integrated Risk Management software.
Duties and responsibilities
- Security Incident Management including prioritising, escalation and notification of critical incidents to internal and external stakeholders
- Facilitate access to Department sites using the Department's various Electronic Access Control Systems (EACS)
- Maintain a sound understanding of the Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF) and Department security policies, governance and practices
- Contribute to projects and security improvement initiatives
- Undertake after-hours on-call functions as required.
Additional information
Highly desirable:
- Experience in providing protective security advice in a federal government, law-enforcement, Defence or national security environment.
Desirable:
- Certificate IV Government Security
- Certificate IV Security and Risk Management.

Eligibility
To be eligible for the position you must be an Australian Citizen.
The successful candidate will be required to obtain and maintain a Negative Vetting Level 1 (AGSVA) security clearance and an Employment Suitability Clearance (ESC).
