Senior Signalling Engineer - Syntec Rail - OGS Australia

Role and Responsibilities

• Promote and ensure the appropriate standards of health, safety and environmental management are adhered to. 
• Prepare schedules for preliminary and detailed designs of signalling systems that comply with statutory and regulatory requirements. 
• Monitor progress and initiate remedial action where required to ensure signalling projects are completed on time and within budget. 
• Supervise the preparation of documentation for standards and specifications concerning signalling systems
• Provide high-level technical support for all signalling projects as required; 
• Act as independent checker verifying signalling designs and application data prepared by others; 
• Participate in factory acceptance testing and site testing of signalling systems and equipment; 
• Participate in the commissioning of signalling systems; 
• Report on signalling projects as required; 
• Develop individual and team competence. 

 Key Performance Metrics:

• Health, Safety and Environment (TBC); 
• Projects executed within scheduled timeframes; 
• Projects executed within allocated budgets generating profit; 
• Identify new projects and additional works for existing projects/clients; 
• Maintain and foster relationships with all stakeholders.

Working Relationships:

• The Senior Signalling Engineer works close with Engineering Staff, the PMO and Project Management;
• Maintains and fosters relationships with current and potential stakeholders, preferred clients, service providers, contractors, subcontractors and employees.
• Previous experience in interlocking design, ideally in MicrolokII, ElectrologIXS and similar interlocking.
• Previous experience in signalling interface circuits and application logic design.
• Knowledge of core railway signalling principles and various Australian Railway Operator (ARO) standards and practices.
• Proficient in drafting software such as AutoCAD, MicroStation or other similar software.
• Good understanding of signalling interface components related to other disciplines’ design, such as Track, Civil, OLE and Communication.
• Strong interpersonal and communicational skills and ability to liaise with clients, contractors, suppliers and alliance partners
• Degree qualified in Electrical or Electronic or other relevant engineering disciplines
• Maintaining up to date logbook and being able to process any competency accreditation
