The Senior Social Worker (Duty Line) provides line management, professional support, and supervision to Social Workers (Duty Line). The position provides senior leadership to the centralised Duty Line state-wide service for all consultations and referrals to Education Social Workers, as well as advice to public education sites on matters pertaining to attendance, engagement, and other general wellbeing issues.
The position participates in the implementation of a service model, designed to support the delivery of integrated and targeted services to meet the needs of children and young people with additional needs.
The Senior Social Worker (Duty Line) supports preschools and schools to assist students of compulsory school age who have become disengaged from the education system. The position also provides induction, professional development and supervision to Social Workers, ensuring alignment with professional and service delivery standards. The Senior Social Worker (Duty Line) is a member of the statewide social work leadership team and actively participates in professional supervision with the Principal Social Worker and operational supervision with the statewide Services Operations Manager.

The successful applicant is required to gain a Department for Human Services (DHS) working with children check (WWCC) prior to being employed which is required to be renewed every five years before expiry.
The incumbent will be required to undertake RRHAN -EC (Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect - Education Care) Facilitator Lead (Masterclass) extended course or the online (Fundamentals) course which will be required to be updated every three years.
