Our Supply Chain Australian Operations team based at our Melbourne Head Office is a key business support unit in the regional hub, that works closely and collaboratively with our Australian assets. The Supply Chain team is responsible for developing and executing collaborative commercial arrangements for the provision of goods and services to MMG sites, ensuring that MMG derives maximum value from its external spend. Our scope encompasses delivery of Sourcing and contract management activities and site inventory. Senior Specialist - Sourcing and Contracting Reporting into the Principal - Sourcing and Contracting, this role is key to supporting the successful delivery of contracts for major spend categories across mining, processing, and site services for the MMG Australian mine sites. This role will be required to develop and execute Sourcing and Contracting activities for ongoing operational requirements. Success in this role will be to demonstrate delivery of strategic procurement plans, market engagement activities, and commercially advantaged agreements in collaboration with suppliers and internal stakeholders. This role is based out of MMG's Corporate Head office in Melbourne on a 6 Month maximum term contract with possible extensions. Competencies, qualifications and skills:
Tertiary qualified in a Supply Chain/Commercial or Business discipline Experience in mining or heavy industry is desired but not critical. Demonstrable experience in Procurement or Supply Chain Sourcing roles, however relevant industry experience in other Functional areas would also be considered e.g. Logistics, Project Management Contract Management, Operations. Experience in strategic Sourcing and developing commercial arrangements. Experience in identification and delivery of cost efficiency opportunities. Proven Experience in procurement, planning and delivery of contracts in operations and or project environments highly desirable. Experience in contract negotiations to deliver benefits across relevant categories. Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional, team-oriented environment.
Key responsibilities will include:
Supporting MMG Australian Operations with developing procurement plans, strategic Sourcing and Contracting activities. Understanding the spend profile and suppliers applicable to the relevant categories. Working closely with key site stakeholders in optimising Sourcing and Contracting outcomes. Managing the full life-cycle of multiple, concurrent market engagement activities for a broad range of goods and services scopes with different priorities, spends and risks. Identifying emerging technologies and suppliers to support MMG's operations. Execute continuous improvement projects with focus on value to the business in collaboration with stakeholders. Maintaining collaborative and effective relationships with all stakeholders to deliver value and continuous improvement to determine forward supply requirements Analysing proposals from vendors, develop business cases as required and present recommendations to award, Negotiating contract agreements and amendments for products and services Assessing contract performance and compliance, conduct audits and reviews and address issues in a timely manner Managing a pipeline of new and expiring contracts to ensure that contracts are in place when required Visit MMG Australian Operations as when required to support MMG Operations.
