About The Opportunity
Liverpool Hospital is seeking an enthusiastic, approachable and dedicated Senior Speech Pathologist to lead the team on weekends. Opportunities such as this are a rare chance for either a driven Level 2 Speech Pathologist to step into a highly sought after senior role or for an experienced clinician to provide leadership to the team. Weekend roles offer a dynamic array of experiences as you are working across a range of clinical areas, meaning no two minutes are the same. You will have the opportunity to work within a large, tertiary hospital and experience a range of presentations across the acute setting.

About You
Having experience with acute patients will ensure you are able to thrive in the role and provide dedicated clinical leadership to the weekend team. Being part of the multidisciplinary team at Liverpool Hospital means you are continuously supported within the role, both by the leadership and wider hospital team. You will be a natural leader who can communicate effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders and have experience in supervision, either of students or other speech pathologists. We are looking for someone who is ready to grow and learn in the role and excel their clinical skills to become a leader within the Speech Pathology team. This role is an exciting opportunity to develop your career, return to work or to become a leader in Speech Pathology.
What you'll be doing
The position is responsible for leading, guiding and managing the delivery of speech pathology services to acute patients. As a senior clinician the speech pathologist is responsible for overseeing and providing an efficient and effective service through the application of clinical expertise and knowledge in the management of patients with swallowing and communication difficulties. They will also contribute to senior departmental duties including clinical supervision, leading of quality improvement activities, participation in service development and other administrative responsibilities as required.

How to Apply
To be considered for this position, please ensure you address the selection criteria as thoroughly as possible.
Must hold a bachelor or post graduate degree in speech pathology which is accredited as eligibility for membership of Speech Pathology Australia
Advanced clinical knowledge and postgraduate experience and skills in managing adults with acquired swallowing and communication difficulties in a hospital setting, including competency in instrumental assessments (VFSS and/or FEES).
Demonstrated experience supervising staff and/or students.
Demonstrated leadership in the planning, implementation and evaluation of local service delivery incorporating the quality improvement process.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, computer literacy and time management.
Demonstrated commitment to EBP and experience implementing EBP into service planning and evaluation of service changes.
Current NSW driver’s licence (P2 accepted)
