Senior Speech Pathologist

About the role

The Level 3 Senior Speech Pathologist will utilise their extensive specialist knowledge and clinical expertise to provide Speech Pathology services (assessment, discharge planning, and therapeutic intervention) to clients of Calvary Health Care Kogarah (CHCK). Provision of services will involve consultation and coordination with the patient, other members of the inpatient Multidisciplinary Team (MDT), and other key stakeholders including GP, and external service providers as required.

Key Responsibilities

• Provision of specialised patient care within allocated workload
• Supervision of Level 1/2 Speech Pathologists and Speech Pathology students
• Quality improvement and service development

What you bring 

• A desire to provide high level patient centered care in a supportive team environment
• Recognised Degree in Speech Pathology (or equivalent) and eligible for full membership of Speech Pathology Australia
• Experience in aged care, rehabilitation and/or palliative care
• Demonstrated ability to initiate, lead, complete and share quality improvement initiatives and service evaluation processes
• Demonstrated high level interpersonal skills, written and verbal communication skills, and ability to easily learn new computer software
• Demonstrated experience in providing clinical supervision and in working autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Ability to work within the Mission and Values of Calvary Health Care Kogarah
• Current unrestricted Class C Drivers licence
