Requisition ID: REQ481047Closing Date: Sunday 28th April 2024Senior Speech Pathologist – Weekend ServiceThe Maitland HospitalAbout the role:In this role you will provide acute inpatient Speech Pathology services to Maitland Hospital.The role may also be required to provide outpatient services and/or services to other sites within the Lower Hunter Sector on occasion (i.e. Dungog, Cessnock and Kurri Kurri Hospitals).This role includes a 4-hour Sunday shift with potential for additional regular Saturday hours if interested.Active participation in clinical supervision sessions encourages a collaborative environment and supports ongoing professional development.Where you’ll be working:

- This role is supported by the Maitland Hospital site Senior Speech Pathologist and is part of a supportive speech pathology team.
- Must hold a bachelor or post graduate degree in speech pathology which provides eligibility for membership of Speech Pathology Australia, or other qualification deemed equivalent by the employer.
- You will possess extensive clinical experience working with adults in the acute hospital setting.
- Experience with Video Fluoroscopic Swallow Studies and inpatient paediatric feeding is desirable.
- You will understand the challenges related to clinical practice in a rural setting and demonstrate the ability to contribute to the existing positive team culture. In addition, you will be able to work with a high level of independence as well as demonstrate excellent skills in teamwork.
