We are currently recruiting for up to 5 Senior Statutory Planning Officer's for our client, a NSW Government agency based in Sydney CBD. This is an initial; 6 month contract with possibility of extension and a pay rate of $650 - $750 per day + super, 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week. Candidates from regional locations will also be considered.
The Senior Statutory Planning Officer will be responsible for specialist Statutory Planning advice to assist in the delivery of projects that meets the NSW planning legislation. You will be working in a a growing team in a fast paced and agile environment.
Key Accountabilities:
- Provide high quality advice, reports, briefings and analysis on state and local government planning policies, regulations and legislation affecting the delivery of projects
- Prepare briefs and responses to correspondence and enquiries relating to the policy and procedures impacting on the physical assets owned and operated by the department, procuring and managing external specialist contractors as necessary
- Assess the impact of development applications by third parties on departmental assets and operations and provide advice to internal stakeholders and prepare submissions to state and local government
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in urban and regional planning and/or relevant experience of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act and other relevant legislation as it effects land use and property development including licences, subdivision, rezoning and construction
- Minimum of 4-5 years Planning experience either in Local or State Government or consultancy
- Previous experience of Part 5 REF and/or experience of State Significant Developments (SSD) would be highly desirable.
