Your new role We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Store Person to join the dynamic team based at our Hornsby Depot. As the Senior Store Person, you will be an integral part of our mobile and multi-skilled team, responsible for the inspection, quality control, receipt, safe custody, warehousing, transport, and issuing of materials to our organisation’s internal and external customers.

This role will primarily operate from our Hornsby Depot but may require work at other sites as needed.

Key responsibilities include the following:

  • Perform pick/pack of orders, receipt of materials, put away of materials, and stock consolidation.
  • Operate independently and efficiently on assigned tasks with minimal instruction.
  • Oversee decentralised store operations when required.
  • Assist in developing stock plans, ordering materials, and managing inventory.
  • Provide coaching and on-the-job training to new and less experienced team members.
  • Maintain productivity in line with key performance indicator targets.
  • Operate forklifts, cranes, and other equipment safely and effectively.
  • Complete regular inventory reporting, including stocktakes and replenishment.
  • Safely drive and operate a range of vehicles, including Heavy Rigid Vehicles and vehicle loading cranes.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable Heavy Vehicle driving regulations and procedures, including fatigue management.
  • Adhere to organisation safety, environmental, and business procedures and systems.

To be successful, you will be qualified/experienced in the following:

 Experience and Qualifications

  • Previous experience in logistics, procurement, or warehouse roles
  • Possession of Class HC and HR driver’s licenses with knowledge of vehicle specifications
  • Forklift and Dogman tickets
  • Current NSW Construction Induction White Card
  • Electrical Safety Rules accreditation
  • Competency in Load Restraint Guidelines and National Heavy Vehicle Transportation Regulations
  • Familiarity with inventory control processes
  • Proficiency in using IT/Warehouse Management software applications and ERP systems
  • Qualification in Procurement, Logistics or another closely-related field (desirable)
  • Knowledge of materials and services used in Heavy Industry environments (desirable)

  • Commitment to ongoing training in Warehouse & Distribution processes

  • Familiarity with barcode order picking systems
