Who are we looking for?
We are seeking an individual who has a strong passion to make a real impact across all AnglicareSA services and for our First Nations employees. Help change lives across the community and the organisation by influencing service design and delivery to improve services for First Nations people.
The successful applicant will provide advice and consultancy to AnglicareSA Executive, Senior Managers and First Nations Cultural Practitioners on matters involving First Nations people, communities, and organisations.
What can you expect to be doing?
- Provide strategic advice to Executive, Senior Managers and First Nations Cultural Practitioners on matters involving First Nations people.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of the Community Services strategy, particularly in relation to the support of and engagement with First Nations people.
- Promote AnglicareSA Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) and support the implementation of associated actions.
- Develop strategies to increase participation in events of cultural significance, and manage events on behalf of AnglicareSA and the First Nations community as appropriate.
- Provide advice and support to leaders and First Nations Cultural Practitioners when advocating for First Nations employees and customers.
- Provide leadership and advice on matters affecting First Nations employees, volunteers, customers and members of the community including membership on various internal groups and committees.
- Tertiary qualifications in Aboriginal Studies, Aboriginal community services or equivalent experience.
- Must be of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent, identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander, and be accepted by their community as being an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander.
- Comprehensive working knowledge of First Nations cultural, social and community networks and relationships, including within Government and Non-Government Organisations.
