Role Description
The Senior Substation Engineer will lead the electrical design of HV substations for renewable energy projects. In this role, you will engage in a diverse range of projects and activities, including:
- Lead the primary, secondary, and protection systems design focusing on HV substations for solar farms, wind farms, and BESS electrical balance of plant.
- Review and develop technical specifications, bill of materials, design reviews for compliance with relevant standards, and lead safety in design and constructability reviews.
- Participate in project development and delivery activities.
- Support the tendering and procurement activities.
- Provide technical guidance and support to the delivery teams during construction.
- Collaborate on commissioning and compliance activities, ensuring seamless project execution.
- Manage design and engineering activities to meet project timelines and budgets effectively.
- A degree in Electrical Engineering.
- 5-7 years of experience in substation design and exposure with renewables BoP design projects, with a preference for Australian energy infrastructure experience.
- Strong knowledge of electric power transmission, distribution systems, design standards, and protection/control systems in substations.
- Familiarity with design development, review processes, and testing and commissioning activities for electrical substations.
- Registration with Engineers Australia.
