Role Overview:
Join UnitingSA as the Senior Support Worker for an 8-month maternity leave cover, empowering NDIS Support Workers in Whyalla (approximately 4.5 hours' drive from Adelaide). Work under the Team Leader's guidance, ensuring a great client experience through efficient referral and roster coordination, and proactive stakeholder engagement. Key Responsibilities
- Develops understanding of diverse individual goals and aspirations.
- Implement tailored plans and customise service offerings.
- Cultivate knowledge of the person-centred approach.
- Assist customers with practical needs and expectations.
- Utilise knowledge of available supports and services.
- Support, guide, and direct team members daily.
- Guide staff in tackling complex participant issues or systems.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to build positive relationships.
- Assist in managing service rosters, outcomes, reporting, and feedback alongside the Team Leader.
- Hold Cert III in community services, disability support, or peer support.
- Possesses current NDIS Worker Check (essential).
- Familiar with issues affecting people with disabilities, including mental health.
- Proficient in relevant legislation, standards, and NDIS pathways.
- Understand the NDIS service delivery model and Practice Standards.
- Knowledgeable about NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission, incident reporting, and reportable incidents.
- Demonstrates strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Skilled in negotiation and conflict resolution.
