Who are we looking for?
We're looking for a Senior Tax Advisor to join our Enterprise Tax team and report to the Senior Tax Manager located in Melbourne.
This is an exciting opportunity to become a key business partner responsible for identifying and implementing commercial tax advice, whilst supporting ongoing taxation needs. Providing advice across a range of activities such as international projects, investment strategies, tax due diligence, capital management structuring and planning for entry to new countries, the Senior Tax Advisor plays a pivotal role in the Enterprise Tax team at GHD.
Working with an energetic and high performing team, you will:
- Assist in providing the business with tax support and advice with respect to proposed and ongoing international projects, including interpretation of income tax treaties and tax legislations.
- Assist in providing tax advice on investment strategies, tax due diligence, planning for entry to new countries and business lines.
- Provide support for management of tax controversy, tax related audits/review and liaise/work with external advisors as required.
- Assist with direct and indirect tax compliance (e.g. income tax, GST, FBT etc.) for Australia and regional markets.
- Assist with monitoring and managing the Group's effective tax rate and with coordination of the Group's global tax provision.
- Provide support for other international tax matters including hybrid mismatch, BEPS initiatives, transfer pricing etc.
What you will bring to the team:
- Professional tax qualifications equivalent to CA or CPA
- Experience in similar tax roles, either with experience in a in Big4 or mid-tier firms and/or a large multinational corporate tax environment.
- Strong understanding of tax effect accounting as well as a broad range of tax topics including international tax issues, tax consolidations, transfer pricing, withholding tax and indirect taxes.
- Proven ability to work independently whilst demonstrating strong analytical and problem solving skills.
- Ability to provide specialist consulting and advisory services to diverse stakeholder groups as whilst anticipating and supporting business needs.
- Strong communication skills with all levels in an organisation, in particular, the ability to communicate complex tax concepts in simple and commercially useful terms.
