About the Role
The Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences (FASS) provides high quality, innovative programs of Teaching and Learning, research and consulting in the fields of communication, education and international studies, using a strong practice orientation with a focus on technology, creativity and internationalism. FASS are currently recruiting for a Senior Teaching and Learning Support Officer to join the School of Communication on a full-time, continuing basis.
The Senior Teaching and Learning Support Officer provides high-level administrative support to the school in relation to Teaching and Learning. The incumbent will support the Teaching and Learning Support Team Leader in the development and achievement of strategic and operational goals of the faculty in relation to Teaching and Learning administration.
If successful in applying for this role, your responsibilities will include:
- Performing Teaching and Learning tasks including processing assessment and exam results, recognition of prior learning, processing applications and admissions, exchanges, concurrent study applications and course transfers
- Providing secretariat support to and participate in relevant committees, including grade moderation meetings, results ratification and appeals committees
- Providing timetable/subject delivery data to, and communicating with, the central UTS timetabling staff
- Creating and maintaining subject/course information for future and current students, including information related to subject outlines and website maintenance
With examples, please outline in a separate document how you meet the following five (5) key selection criteria points:
- Commitment to excellent customer service in the provision of support to school and faculty staff
- Demonstrated project management skills with the ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines as well as the ability to prioritise workload and work independently
- Understanding of the Teaching and Learning function within the Faculty and the wider university, including knowledge of appropriate policies and governance procedures
- Well-developed competency using various computer applications, including Microsoft Office, CASS, CIS and other relevant programs, or ability to develop competency quickly
- Prior experience in Teaching and Learning or similar role and experience with interpreting and applying academic and administrative policies
Remuneration & Benefits
Base Salary Range: $91,254 to $98,805 pa (HEW 6)
This role attracts 17% superannuation (pension) in addition to the base salary.

This position is full-time and appointment will be made on a continuing basis.
